Üma Kleppinger has been fascinated by meditation ever since she tip-toed wide-eyed and curious into a Buddhist temple as a child. Since then she's learned that meditation needn't involve ritualistic chants, fancy incense and gongs (although it can if you want it to). Her yoga practice has evolved out of in-depth practice of Iyengar, Ashtanga and Yin yoga forms. Üma's teaching style is humorous, engaging and both serious and playful. Her approach to yoga emphasizes mindfulness in movement.
For over 15 years Üma has engaged in sharing the benefits of meditation and yoga with others in San Francisco, Portland, and Central Oregon. She resides in Bend, Oregon where she has founded Bend Yoga Therapy — a private therapeutic yoga practice—and BikeYoga, a practice which blends Üma's passion for mountain biking, cycling, and yoga. Üma has authored numerous articles, has published two yoga practice books, and is working on her latest, a memoir of the spiritual journey, on and off the mat. For more information contact:
