Classical surya namaskar is probably the most important movement series you can incorporate into your life. While it tends to be relegated to a basic warm up or a transition between postures, it is a complete physical, psychological and spiritual practice when done correctly. You will learn the origins of this powerful series, the essential actions in each of the individual poses, proper use of the breath and drishti (gaze point), and cultivation of the intention held in each movement. You will also learn the important distinction between practicing in the plane of space and the plane of time. Recommended for anyone who does surya namaskar, and an absolute must for everyone who avoids it.
