The support and guidance that Kristen Rubis offers through Kristen Rubis Yoga & Sacred Music is founded in over two decades of study in the healing arts as well as in her personal journey towards wellness and inner peace.
Through yoga, therapeutic massage, reiki, childbirth education, doula services and sound healing, Kristen’s practice brings together a unique blend of experience in the healing arts. Her specialties include maternity massage, wellness care, sacred music and yoga for all stages of life.
The years Kristen spent learning about the wellness benefits of music have been channeled into “Sacred Sound Healing” her first professional recording. She has been working with Sound Acutonics since 2004 and offering Sound Healing Workshops, Concerts, Classes and Events since 2009. Kristen continues to tour and travel throughout the year with her sacred music and yoga.
“Sacred music is becoming a bigger part of my path and a deeper part of my service. I listen with my hands and heart while I trust in the divinity of this sacred music. The mystery, magic, and medicine of the healing sound moves through me with deep grace. I am humbled and honored to share this ‘Sacred Sound Healing’ with the world.”

Kris Myers has been studying the art of Yoga since 2001 and spreading the word as a teacher since 2007. More than being a student of yoga and a teacher, however, she is a human being, one who enjoys sharing the practice of Yoga, all of the limbs of Yoga. She believes the practice of yoga starts exactly where its supposed to begin for each individual and evolves into something greater. What that is, varies per person. But for her, it’s Satsang, Meditation, Mantra, Kirtan, and so much more. For Kris, Yoga is a way of life. A life that should be lived to its fullest, with happiness, joy and Love.
Currently Kris’ love of yoga is leading her to a place of selfless giving. She sees so much hurt in the world, and feels compelled to offer what she knows to heal. Kris is very passionate about it, and it is her goal to make something that heals many people, on many levels. As the owner of Empowered Yoga, Kris feels compelled to give back, and she does so with Donation Based Yoga, as well as regular classes, of which a percentage is given back to what ever nonprofit organization her students deem worthy.
Kelly is a certified yoga therapist practicing yoga, including meditation since 1986. Yoga is her passion, love and life’s work. Her intention is to support students to identify, target and take steps to be their personal best. And to connect with the deep sense of serenity, centeredness and equanimity that is at their core: whole and healthy, and better equipped to meet life’s challenges. Kelly is a registered instructor with the Yoga Alliance, E-RYT 500; trained in the science of Yoga Therapy at the Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa, California; and trained by Richard Miller, founder of Integrative Restoration as a level 1 iRest® Yoga Nidra instructor. Kelly is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and together with 7 fellow Portland yoga therapists is a founding board member of the Northwest Yoga Therapy Collaborative – the first of it’s kind in the United States. She has partnered with a chiropractic doctor and an emergency room doctor to integrate yoga therapy as a complementary healing modality in our modern western world. Kelly has great gratitude for all of the teachers in her life, especially, Swami Chetanananda, whom she met in 1995 and continues work with to refine the fine art of meditation. Kelly lives in his Ashram, in Portland, Oregon.
Sara Rieber received her 200 hour RYT certification from Ananda Ashram/yoga society of New York in Monroe, NY where she studied with Michael Hollander, Shri Radha and Ma Bhaskarananda. There, she delved deep into the philosophy of yoga with the study of Sanskrit, meditation and asana. Sara accumulated an abundance of loving wisdom from her teachers and continues her journey knowing she needs to keep learning. That’s why she went on to receive a second 200 hour RYT certification from Portland therapeutic yoga where she learned the importance and love of moving mindfully. Trying to find that beautiful in between of strength and ease. It doesn’t stop there.
After a few years of part-time yoga-ing, I began my formal study of this endlessly rich practice 6 years ago, moving through my first teacher training with Rutu Chaudhari, a long time student of Aadil Palkhivala who was a student since childhood of yoga master BKS Iyengar and a master teacher of the subtle body in his own right. Upon moving to Portland, I was introduced to the Ashtanga Vinyasa lineage and I currently practice in the primary series. I enjoy the co-mingling of these divergent approaches and my teaching is informed not only by these rich traditions, but by a long time study of eastern & western philosophy, psychology, neurophysiology & the natural sciences. I love teaching all kinds of yoga from restorative to physically challenging classes- all of which I strive to make accessible to students of all levels with open hearts & steadfast resolve. Currently, I am teaching regular classes at the Yoga Space -SE & NW (www.theyogaspace.com) & OmBase Yoga in Hillsdale, (www.ombase.org) in addition to private lessons. (www.cityofrosesyoga.com)
Kristin Tschannen owner of Seaside Yoga and Retreat Center: I moved to the Oregon Coast in May of 2013 to escape the bustle and stress of TV life in Los Angeles and New York. As if that wasn’t enough change of pace, I opened Seaside Yoga Studio & Retreat Center in Seaside, Oregon in February of 2014. That was also the first year I attended the Cannon Beach Yoga Festival, this very special event hosted by Cannon Beach Yoga Arts each year at the beach. I am extremely proud and honored to be a part of the growing yoga presence and community here on the North Oregon Coast and love showing off our scenic retreat zone to friends, family and especially other dedicated yoga practitioners who visit Seaside and Cannon Beach throughout the year for classes and the festival. I encourage you to join us this year in our inviting locale for inspired instruction and a deep level of connection among the growing number of CBYF attendees!
